Grievance Handling

A cultural review or assessment may be required in a workplace where a high level of absenteeism, poor morale or a high staff turnover exists. Alternatively, an anonymous customer or staff complaint may have revealed concerning aspects of the workplace, which if left untreated, may escalate and increase the risk of damage to the reputation or business of your organisation.

Affected staff will often feel more comfortable speaking candidly and honestly to external investigators who are perceived to be more objective and independent than internal investigators or managers.

Pinnacle Integrity will undertake a confidential and thorough review, drawing out the underlying themes, issues and causes, often mired in organisational complexities and historical working relationships.

Our highly experienced workplace professionals will work through these complexities to deliver you a comprehensive and resilient document, clearly articulating the organisational terrain, issues and challenges upon which to act confidently.
Our reports are evidence-based, clearly delineate conduct and performance management issues, as well as reasonable and unreasonable behaviours where relevant, and include recommendations about improving organisational culture on request.

The investigation process is just as critical as the outcome.  The principles of impartiality, procedural fairness and confidentiality underpin our entire process, to ensure outcomes are robust and industrially resilient.
Our disciplinary investigations are conducted with sensitivity and the utmost respect and fairness to all parties, including recognising and acknowledging cultural sensitivities where appropriate. These imperatives are delivered in the most cost-effective manner, respecting resource and time limitations and ensuring value.

Our highly experienced and licenced workplace investigation professionals pro-actively assist you in resolving such workplace issues as conflicts of interest, disrespectful behaviour, bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, wage or time sheet fraud, misuse of resources, assault in the workplace and other forms of serious misconduct.

Fact finding investigations are deemed appropriate where the full extent and circumstances of suspected misconduct remain unclear. This allows your organisation to establish the facts on which to make sound risk-based decisions and to determine whether disciplinary action is required.

Grievances, anonymous complaints, or customer complaints all have the potential to cause a high level of anxiety, distress and disruption in any organisation.

Whether you are faced with an anonymous, external or internal complaint or a formal grievance, the Pinnacle Integrity team will work discreetly with management to minimise disruption to your day-to-day operations, without the expense of engaging lawyers, and will allow you to resolve the complaint or grievance fairly and expeditiously.

The grievance handling procedure will take into consideration the views of the complainant and respondent, checking other relevant facts and extenuating circumstances, ensuring all are dealt with in a consistent and transparent manner. Our expert investigators are experienced at working with vulnerable groups and are highly familiar with the child protection standards of the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

If relevant, recommendations can be made about how to avoid similar complaints in future, and to ensure grievance and complaint handling procedures are improved to meet best practice standards.
